Demolition of Carmel Chapel, Abercrave

Carmel Chapel was built in 1897 and thrived for over a century before being demolished in 2006-7. This is the foundation stone, now perhaps in a collection in America.

Taken on the 13th July 2007, this photograph shows the organ and its surround after the beginning of demolition.

Looking back towards the main door inside Carmel Chapel after most of the interior has already been gutted during demolition.

Once purchased with hard-earned money and celebrated across the press as a great achievement for the chapel, this photograph shows what the fate of the organ was.
